About Me

I grew up outside Philadelphia, where I attended gradeschool at Waldron Mercy Academy and high school at The Academy of Notre Dame. My favorite activities there included Mathletes, Mock Trial, the academic quiz team, and editing the student newspaper.

I studied physics and math at Swarthmore College, where I became involved in a number of scientific research and teaching activities. I also enjoyed Kokikai Aikido and intramural softball, and was on the winning team of the Crum Regatta my senior year.

During my graduate studies at Cornell, I was president of the Physics Grad Society from 2003 - 2004, after which I served as webmaster and advisor. I became involved in a number of outreach activities, including chairing a science conference for over 200 middle-school girls. I also served for two years on the Board of Directors and the Grounds Committee of Eastwood Commons, my condo association, which was a wonderful place to live.

Activities

My favorite activities now are mostly outdoors, although I also spend much of my free time reading. I enjoy hiking in the summer and cross-country skiing in the winter. I took up rock climbing after a class at Cornell's Lindseth Climbing Wall, and I have been climbing outdoors a few times at the Gunks and in the Canadian Rockies.

I also love to cook, and my team from the Physics Department won the Hotel School's Graduate Iron Chef 2005 competition.

Family

My husband, Nick Ouellette, is a postdoc with Jerry Gollub at Haverford College and soon to be an Assistant Professor in the Yale Mechanical Engineering Department. Our daughter, Alice, was born in November 2007 and is adorable. My parents, Pat Larrimore and Dale Larrimore, are both attorneys in Philadelphia. My brother, Jeff Larrimore, is an economics Ph.D. student at Cornell, and his wife, Laura Larrimore, works in the public services department of Cornell's Mann Library and is working towards a Master's degree.
