Welcome!

After spending five years doing research in the Physics Department at Cornell University with Professor Paul McEuen for my Ph.D. dissertation, I decided to join the Yale Law School J.D. class of 2011. I still love physics, but I came to realize that more than the hands-on experimentation, what I enjoy is coming to understand a new aspect of science and then teaching others about that field. This article from Nature magazine got me interested in patent law, which I believe will combine many of the things I have liked best about physics. I have become particularly interested in the relationship between patent law and basic research.

This website describes the science research I was involved in before starting law school. My research at Cornell focused on chemical and biological sensing with carbon nanotubes in solution, and I was also involved in many science outreach activities. Follow the links to the left to learn more!
