With the revision of the software which allows use with lower resolution screens we have also managed to add a few bugs into the programs. For the Macintosh version ONLY you may receive an error message when you try to switch back and forth between the "mean value" and "standard deviation" graphs. To fix this problem download:
debye.tcl;
and replace the drude.tcl file in your sss/lib/ drude folder with this corrected file. (This bug is only on some earlier versions of our updaters which replace the original (high resolution only) version of the software with the newer version. It is NOT on either version of the CD or in the Windows or Unix versions.)

I got hooked by the lawn sprinkler on the "drude" page and tried to reproduce it. After getting it to work I noticed that the arms of the starfish can be made to curl either forward or back by tuning the magnetic field (or frequency of the E-field) off resonance. Tuning for "straight arms" gives a very easy way to tune to the cyclotron resonance condition.

Right on! To make a lawn sprinkler once you've got "drude" running, open preset 10, change the temperature to 10 and the speed to 35. For quite a different pattern, take T to 1, B to 1.05, and tau to 4e+02.
