  • 2.1 -- 3/31/98 -- Help on Exercise 2.2
We are trying to work through the exercises but are having trouble. For example I am trying to do exercise 2.2 (M**).

?1 Are we suppose to rotate the lattice angle by 90 deg?
?2 because of the symmetry of the pattern. how can i tell when the pattern has rotated 90 degrees?

    J.U., Jr.

?1 Draw a sketch for yourself of the structure you will get with a 90 degree rotation of the display in preset 1.
?2 Do number 1 carefully and you will see a structure which is NOT the same as the display. (A hexagon does NOT have a 4-fold axis of symmetry.)
    Try it--
