Computer Labs for Linux

The Linux versions of galileo, pythag, schrdgr, huygens, ising, and jupiter computer labs are available for downloading. They are combined into one file. (On my browser, I use shift-click to download it.) You can download it from the Web

sss.tar.gz (3.1MB compressed), or get it using ftp (ftp://ftp.lassp.cornell.edu/pub/SethnaSSS/linux_distrib/sss.tar.gz).

Use gunzip and tar to unpack it, and then try running galileo from the sss/bin directory:

tar -xvzf sss.tar.gz
cd linux_distrib/sss/linuxbin
./galileo (or pythag, or schrdgr ...)

(SSS stands for for "Solid State Simulations", Silsbee's project for Physics 454).

If you have problems, let me know. In particular, the programs may not work if you have a different version of Tcl/Tk installed on your system elsewhere...
