PGS has a strong history of organizing social gatherings for Physics, A&EP, and Astro students. Coffee hours, ropes courses, and movie nights are just a few of the events we’re planning for this semester. See below, or watch your e-mail for details!

Announcements

  • Join us for a weekly coffee hour Thursdays at 2:30 PM in the Grad Lounge. Coffee, tea, donuts, bagels, fruit, and other goodies are supplied by the PGS. [poster]
  • Our current physics T-shirt is “Respect your nearest neighbors, have your phonon vibrate!” Check out previous competing T-shirt designs.

Upcoming PGS Events

  • Movie Night

Starting February 17, 2010, the PGS will be showing the original Star Wars Trilogy over the course of the spring semester. The film will be shown at 7:30 PM in 230 Rockefeller Hall, and free food will be provided. Hope to see you there! [poster]

  • Truth Night

On Thursday, January 28, the PGS is hosting a “truth night” from 6:00-8:00 PM in 701 Clark Hall. If you’re still looking for a research group to join, come on up and learn the good, the bad, and the ugly of them all while enjoying free pizza and drinks! [poster]

  • Interest in High Ropes course?

Hey guys, last year after the 1st years did their bonding on the low ropes course, all of PGS went back and did the high ropes course. It was challenging and a lot of fun. If ya’ll would like to do this again, I would like an interest of about 30-40 people, then I will set a date. So if you would like to do the high ropes course then send me (Lauren: lma67) an e-mail. Be sure to check out the pictures from last year’s outing.

If you have other ideas for PGS events, please send us an email at pgs@physics.cornell.edu.
